The Clinic’s history begins with the influential civic leader and philanthropist, Adelaide Tichenor. Based on personal experience, she was a firm believer in the treatment of orthopedic problems during childhood. Her dream to help children with chronic orthopedic disabilities, regardless of their ability to pay, was realized with the opening of the Tichenor Orthopedic Clinic for Children in 1926.
